GLOWLAB

Conflux is the art and technology festival for the creative exploration of urban public space where international artists and technologists put investigations of everyday city life into practice on the streets. For four days, the city becomes a playground, a space for positive change and an opportunity for civic engagement.

Conflux 2008 will take place September 11–14 in New York and feature artist-led walking tours, bicycle and public-transit expeditions, interactive performance, street art installations, DIY media workshops, emerging technology demos, lectures, a film series and live music. Conflux was founded and is produced by Glowlab.

In a formal collaboration between partner galleries Leo Kesting and Glowlab, David Meanix's sculptures – born from torn and shredded photographs and culminating in staged renditions of modern daily life – are exhibited next to Beka Goedde's paintings and works on paper depicting a bird's eye view of architectural structures suggesting tent cities and shanty towns. In Leo Kesting’s collection of works by David Meanix, entitled This City, and Glowlab’s presentation of Beka Goedde's Entropically Favorable, two curators bring forward visions exploring psychogeography and the complex relationships between people and the spaces they inhabit. Exhibitions will be on display March 20th through April 6th. [...].

Glowlab participates in the upcoming Bridge Art Fair with new works by artists including Tom Brauer, Jason Cantoro, Beka Goedde, Cathelijn van Goor, Alice Jarry, Heather L. Johnson, David Kesting, Steve Lambert, Roberto Mollá, Marisa Olson, Mark Price and Sal Randolph.
